Two different things get called your "role", and they do different jobs.
Your view is what your app looks like: Crew, Artist, or Tour manager. You pick it at signup and can add to it or change it any time. It shapes your screens. It never decides your access.
Your role on a tour is what you can actually do on one specific run: Management, Crew, or Artist. Whoever runs that tour sets it, per tour. This is the real permission.
Neither crew nor artist sees the Budget section. It leaves the menu entirely, not just the numbers.
The artist view also drops Advance from a day. That's the production paperwork, and it isn't what the artist opened the app for.
Past dates fold away behind a toggle for everyone, management included. A date stays in the list until noon the next day, so last night is still there in the morning, and nothing is ever deleted.
Everyone gets one home screen: a section per band, a card per tour, your next stop on each card, and tour history at the bottom. Anyone can start a band and become its management. New tour, Crew and Archive only show on bands and tours you manage.
Hold more than one view and you can switch from Viewing as in the side panel, your avatar menu, or Account. Switch to Artist and the manager tools disappear, so you can check what the band is about to see before they see it.
It hides those tools, it doesn't remove your access, and switching back brings everything with it.
One thing it can't do is change what you see of somebody else's tour. If a tour manager has you down as artist on their run, that's what you get there, whatever your own view says.
